A fairly rare sighting of a shoal of Kakatofish near the Sekiseishoko reef in the waters off Japan. I took an old sculpt and pushed myself to do a complete little animated scene in one working day. The retopology, UV unwrapping, texturing, rigging, animation, lighting, layout, rendering and compositing all done Saturday the 12th of August 2017.
Scultped in Zbrush, retopologised in Maya, textured in Substance Painter, rendered in Marmoset Toolbag, and some bubbles and noise overlaid in After Effects.
Each creature is 10k triangles. Simple driven keys, which translate a few joints, as attributes on the master control to contract/expand the outer and inner mouth.
